Satisfy Language Requirement
- Language Requirements are set by each Major and/or the College
- Language Requirements can require Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Proficiency
Proficiency may be certified in one of the following ways:
- Language Credits completed at UNC Charlotte
- Language Credits received through Transfer from another college or university
- Language Credits received through AP and IB exams
- Credit received through CLEP testing
- Placement above the required proficiency level on the Placement Test
- American Sign Language Credits received at another college or university
- Completion of three years of high school college-prep studies in a single foreign language (including level III or above) result in Proficiency Certification at the level of 1202
- Completion of Associate’s degree in Arts, Science, or Fine Arts under the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement results in Proficiency Certification at the level of 1202
- Native Speakers may use the Certification of Proficiency process
