Kate Norwine: MUFG Union Bank

Kate is currently a Business Planning Analyst at MUFG Union Bank.
She graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2020 with a bachelor’s in International Business and a minor in Japanese (cum laude). While attending UNC Charlotte, she spent a semester studying abroad at Sophia University in Tokyo. When she returned from Japan, she interned at the UNC Charlotte Office of Education Abroad to help other students have their own international experiences. These experiences helped her when she interviewed with MUFG, and ultimately she got the job. MUFG has taught her a lot and helped her grow immensely in her professional career. Kate looks forward to sharing her experiences with any students interested in working for a Japanese company at the JBusiness Forum.

Hiroki Horiuchi: Tokyo Gas America

Hiroki Horiuchi is a Vice President in IPP & Market Strategy Team at Tokyo Gas America. He graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 2013. In 2014, He joined Tokyo Gas, which is a gas and electricity utility in the Tokyo metropolitan, and started to his works as an analyst in Japanese electricity market. He has transferred to Tokyo Gas America located in Houston TX since 2015 and has developed extensive experiences in US energy market and power plant industry including job trainings from energy trading company and asset management company of power plant

Detlef Dohmen: Asahi Kasei

Detlef Dohmen leads AsahiKasei’s International IT Team since April 2020. In this role, he is responsible to build a centralized global IT Organization that can effectively serve multiple businesses globally and prepare Asahi Kasei for future growth. The team focus lays on consolidation and standardization of the IT environment while capitalizing on IT innovation and digital transformation.

Previously Detlef Dohmen has lead the global information technology initiatives as Polypore International’s CIO since 2004. Polypore International is a fully owned company of AsahiKasei since 2015. Since then Detlef has worked successfully with his peers in Tokyo on joined projects and initiatives, which lead to his promotion in 2021.
