SEACS Conference 2021

Welcome to SEACS!

On behalf of the organizing committee, it was my pleasure to welcome you to the second annual conference for the Southeastern Association of Cultural Studies (SEACS) and the first ever virtual conference for SEACS hosted by UNC Charlotte. The officers hope that you enjoyed this virtual format and that sharing your research virtually with colleagues was a rewarding experience.

The Southeastern Association of Cultural Studies, SEACS (www.theseacs.org), is an organization dedicated to connecting and learning from colleagues dedicated to scholarship in Cultural Studies, Literatures, World Languages, Linguistics, and Pedagogy. As a regional organization with an international scope, SEACS holds annual meetings in the southeast region of the US that draws participants from the area and beyond. SEACS is a regional, non-profit organization that promotes scholarly exploration in a collegial spirit. SEACS is an organization that is dedicated to maintaining a supportive community of educators, scholars, and graduate students as well as to providing early professionalization opportunities for advanced undergraduate students.
