Kelly Webb has been teaching Spanish for more than twenty years.  Kelly has a
bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Winthrop University and a master’s degree in Adult
Education from East Carolina University, as well as TESOL (Teacher of English as a
Second Language) certification. She is an adjunct Spanish professor at UNC Charlotte, but she
also teaches Spanish and ESL for CPCC and is a corporate trainer. Kelly has
developed a dynamic style, making her one of the most often requested instructors for
Central Piedmont’s Continuing Education Spanish courses.

Kelly has a passion for teaching and works to keep her approach lighthearted with a lot
of humor.  Since she’s not a native speaker, she understands her students’ fears and
challenges. “It’s okay to make mistakes,” she says. “There are many funny moments in
my classes.” She tells students that the goal is not perfection, but rather to
communicate and to be understood. “I love seeing light bulbs go off over people’s heads
when I know they understand. When someone can communicate in Spanish like they
would in English, I know I’ve done my job well,” Kelly says. “I hope that my passion for
teaching and speaking Spanish rubs off on my students. I feel that anyone can learn a
language with a little positive encouragement, some hard work and a sense of humor.”

When Kelly isn’t teaching, she can often be found traveling or planning her next
international trip. Her love of travel leads her to many interesting locations where she is
immersed in another culture and continually stretches her language fluency.
