An excellent opportunity for students to share their projects with peers in a non-competitive environment!

Event Description

The JBusiness Forum is an event for students to share their Japanese business-related projects and presentation given by Japanese business insiders. We invite those who are interested in learning Japanese business culture and considering employment at a Japanese-related firm in the future. The theme this year is Global Talents in Japanese Employments.

In addition to two guest speakers, four student projects will be selected for the event, and they will present their undergraduate research at the JBusiness Forum.

Time & Date: Friday at 3:30-5:00 PM EST. November 22nd, 2024

Ayako Yasuda: Managing director, Seiho Co.,ltd

Ms. Ayako Yasuda is an accomplished international business professional with extensive experience in bridging markets between the U.S. and Japan. As the Managing director at Seiho Co., Ltd., She develops and executes sales strategies, overseas market research, and manages e-commerce initiatives for Japanese food products. Her role involves recruiting and training staff, analyzing sales data, and promoting Japanese culinary traditions in the U.S.

Ms. Yasuda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Tokyo Woman’s Christian University, where she also studied International Relations and Geopolitics. Her career includes impactful roles such as Consul at the Consulate General of Japan in Atlanta, where she advanced U.S.-Japan relations and promoted Japanese food exports. Additionally, she has held positions at JETRO, where she honed her skills in market expansion and international trade.

With a deep understanding of cross-cultural business dynamics, She brings valuable insights into global business strategies and international market development. Her expertise provides a practical perspective on navigating the complexities of international business and fostering global partnerships. 

Mary Milligan: Congressional Diplomatic Assistant, Embassy of Japan

Ms. Mary Milligan is a Diplomatic Assistant for the Minister of the Congressional Affairs section at the Embassy of Japan in Washington, D.C. In this role, she coordinates meetings between the Minister and Members of Congress, organizes receptions for Japanese business representatives, and collaborates with Embassy colleagues to manage logistical details. Additionally, she drafts and proofreads official documents, researches Members of Congress and their staff, and maintains records of past meetings and events.

Ms. Milligan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. As part of her studies, she spent a year abroad at Nagoya University of Foreign Studies, where she deepened her understanding of Japanese language and culture. Her experience abroad sparked her passion for fostering U.S.-Japan relations and ultimately led to her joining the Embassy of Japan.
