Maryrica Ortiz Lottman is an Associate Professor of Spanish at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her research examines 17th-century comedias as they were originally performed and as they are staged today, especially in relation to gardens and landscapes. Her publications include extended interviews with some of the top theater directors in the UK, including Gregory Doran, Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Her articles and book chapters have appeared in Cervantes, Romance Quarterly, Comedia Performance, The Bulletin of the Comediantes, etc., and in volumes published by Harvard University Press, the MLA, and other academic houses.
