Bio

Jessica Day is an instructor of Elementary Spanish at UNC Charlotte. She has previously taught in K–12 schools and served as an adjunct instructor at North Carolina Central University and UNC Wilmington. Jessica believes that language learning flourishes in a supportive and inclusive environment, where students feel safe to take risks and actively engage with the material. Her teaching philosophy centers on building community, fostering curiosity, and making language feel both personal and relevant. She especially enjoys Hispanic linguistics and has developed her own elementary-level Spanish workbooks through curriculum design, with a focus on real-world communication and cultural connection.
