Ivan E. Parra Garcia is a Lecturer of Spanish in the Department of Languages, Cultures and Translation at UNC Charlotte. His teaching focuses on the development of Spanish communication and intercultural understanding through communicative activities, experiential learning, creative expression, and critical reflection. His background in learning experience design informs his use of educational technology, accessible resources, and goal-driven learning pathways that help students  develop the communicative and intercultural skills to use Spanish inside and outside the classroom. Before joining UNC Charlotte, he taught elementary, intermediate, and advanced Spanish, as well as courses in Spanish for the professions, creative and academic writing, and Latin American culture.
