On October 23, Dr. Ghali was honored to facilitate the synthesis session for the second consecutive year, for the 2026 International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) regional project, Youth Engagement: Building Tomorrow’s Workforce: A Regional Project for Near East and North Africa. Hosted by the International House in Charlotte and supported by the U.S. Department of State’s Office of International Visitors, the session convened delegates from Algeria, Bahrain, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

As the U.S. government’s premier professional exchange initiative, the IVLP advances U.S. national security priorities and fosters enduring international partnerships across government, business, and academia while strengthening local American communities. Following a five-state tour examining local youth engagement strategies, participants used this final synthesis session to reflect on key insights and outline actionable steps for implementation in their home countries.

Since its inception in 1940, more than 230,000 international leaders have taken part in the IVLP including over 500 alumni that have become heads of state or government, 12 Nobel Laureates, 1,600+ Cabinet Ministers, 1,000+ members of Parliament, and numerous leaders in industry, science, and academia. IVLP participants are nominated by U.S. Embassies around the world.
