Congratulations

Congratulations to Hanna Lee, who received a Golden Nugget Award for November 2025. We appreciate your going above and beyond! Below is the reason you were nominated.

“Hanna Lee has consistently stepped up to learn new skills and implement better processes. She does an enormous amount of work behind the scenes on a regular basis and has been instrumental to the running of the department. Her positive attitude and commitment to the faculty and students exemplifies what one needs in a staff member. We are lucky to have her.”

Congratulations to Sandra Watts who has been accepted to the 2026 Institute for Emerging Leaders in Online Learning, which includes both an online and a residential portion in early August plus a Leadership Symposium in Orlando in November.

In addition, Dr. Watts is the President-Elect of the UPCEA South Region, which includes AL, AR, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NC, PR, SC, TN, TX, and VA.

Finally, congratulations to Dr. Watts for hosting a campus-wide debate event in the Language Resource Center on February 12. This initiative brought students and faculty from across campus to our LRC. Lee Barnes Campus Debate Fellow Noah Hughey, Political Science major and Journalism minor is seen opening the February 12 campuswide debate.

Reappointment and Promotion Workshops in March

We will be holding two reappointment and promotion workshops in March on Zoom, one for tenure track faculty and one for non-tenure track. These workshops are designed to help faculty, chairs, and college/department review committee members understand the process and answer any questions they may have. Dean Boyer and Associate Dean Weeks will lead them.

Tenure track: Tuesday, March 17 (9:00-10:30am)

Non-tenure track: Wednesday, March 18 (2:00-3:30pm)

Please fill out this form to RSVP and receive the Zoom link. If you have any questions, please email Greg Weeks at gbweeks@charlotte.edu.
