Digital ID
The Digital ID you now have on your phones will open all locked doors that have a digital lock. In addition, it will work as your regular ID for all other purposes. However, the police chief corrected the information I had previously received. In case of a lockdown, the Digital ID will not open a door that is automatically locked.
Syllabi
In case you are still completing and putting final touches on your syllabi please see the Academic Affairs Syllabus Guidance we received earlier in August. Please also make sure you submit your syllabi to Hanna by the Drop/Add deadline, which is 8/26.
New Bylaws
Please see here the revised Bylaws 8/13/2024.
Updated Strategic Plan
Please see here the updated Strategic Plan 2021-26. Please note that the Dean is having CHESS create a new Strategic Plan, which might mean we will have to create a new one also. In the document, any crossed out language means that the action has been discontinued as per the Annual Report of 2023-24.
Workload Policies
Please find here the CHESS Draft Workload policy I presented to you at the department meeting. For reference, please see here the current LANG Workload Policy.
I have put together a very preliminary draft of what a Proposed Department Workload Policy for Discussion in CAPC 2024 could look like. Please understand that this is a document meant to be used as a basis for discussion in the CAPC meetings and then in the department. I welcome comments to be shared with and discussed in the CAPC. We have until November 8 to submit our approved new LANG Workload Policy to the Dean’s office based on the CHESS Workload policy, which they expect to pass in Faculty Council in the next couple of weeks.
Wishing you all a wonderful first day and first week of the semester. Thank you for all you do.
All the best,
Anabel
